Skincare routine Winter 2012

As I have mentioned before, I have combination skin with an oily T-zone, occasional dry patches on the forhead, occasional spots on the chin and overall redness. Skincare is very important to me and I love trying out new products!! My current skincare routine works great at the moment, but it might change over time!

Morning time ☼

La Roche Posey Effaclar H Mousse

This is a very good foamy cleanser that I use in the morning. It's mainly for combination oily to oily skin that has dried due to specific skincare products. I started using it a couple of months ago because I had some dry patches on my skin (which are now gone). I like it but it is nothing great and the smell is kind of alcohol-y which I do not like. I am using it up, but I will definitely try out something new once it's gone.

MAC Fix+

I use Fix+ in the morning as a toner, as I find it very refreshing and MAC skincare works great under makeup. It has that characteristic smell of MAC's skincare, which according to MAC is a mixture of green tea, chamomile and cucumber. It is not a necessity and it's pretty expensive, but I can't resist the smell! :p

MAC Complete Comfort Creme

Now this is a product I can't live without! This moisturiser is ideal for me. It's moisturising but not too heavy for my combination skin and I find it reduces my redness considerably. My makeup goes on smoothly after it and it also has a similar scent to Fix+, which I adore. Only problem is that I seem to have run out of it pretty fast. I am on my first pot and I bought it a month and a half ago. However, I have already seen the bottom! :( I am not sure how much longer it will last, but I also use it at night so that might be it.

Night time ☾

Makeup wipes by Johnson & Johnson for combination skin
I use makeup wipes at night to take off my face makeup. I know it's not the best but it is so easy! These makeup wipes are cheap (3 euros in Greece) and they are pretty good. They are moist enough and do take off most of my makeup. I really want to try the MAC wipes next but they are kind of expensive and I use them daily. Maybe when they have their next discount! :P

LUSH Ultra Bland

This is for taking off my eye makeup and it works like a dream! I rub a small amount on my eyes and then use a cotton pad with warm water to remove it. Nothing stays on my eyes even with heavy waterproof makeup. Great! It would work amazing for people with dry skin to take off their face makeup as well. I tried it a few times and I woke up the next day with a clean, moisturised and really soft face. However, it is very heavy (kind of like butter consistency), so it clogs my pores.

La Roche Posay Lotion Apaisant Physiologique

I use this as a toner at night. It is for sensitive skin and it takes off the last bits of my makeup. It smells really nice and it is very gentle on the skin. I find toners targeted for oilier skin too harsh for me, so I prefer something like this. However, I am sure you can find something cheaper in the drugstore that works just the same.

Korres Wild Rose Instant Brightening Eye Treatment

This is the eye cream I currently use. It smells like roses and it has a light consistency. It seems to reduce any fine lines and puffiness, but now that the weather is colder I find that it is not moisturising enough. I would love your suggestions on a thicker eye cream! :)
I then use my MAC Complete Comfort Cream and I am off to bed!
