Blush Collection

I'm not much of a blush person. I am mostly a lipstick or eyeshadow person and that is precisely why I decided to do my blush collection first (It's the smallest.. :P). So, let's get started!

MAC Dame Blush
Dame (£17.50 or £14.50 in pan form)
Dame is a cool toned light pink blush (not as light as Well Dressed though). It is a satin finish and it was my first ever MAC blush. I used to be a lot into pinks but not anymore, so it is not one of my most used. Saying that, of course, I am actually wearing today with a simple winged liner and MAC Modesty lipstick. :) It is quite sheer which I like for a pink blush, but it is buildable. If you like pinks and you find Well Dressed too light for you (as I did!), try Dame.

MAC Pro Blush in Salsa Rose

Salsa Rose (£17.50 or £14.50 in pan form)
It has to be said that I love shopping at the MAC Pro store. Even if I am not shopping for a pro item, I love to try them out (MAC Pro Mixing Medium u r next on my list!!). This blush was an impulse buy. Guilty as charged! I was looking through the blushes at MAC and it immediately caught my eye. Next step, swatch it. Holy pigmentation! Salsarose has a satin finish and it is a very vivid reddish pink with coral mixed in.
It is beautiful and it gives a naturally flushed cheek colour (the winter kind like u have been out building a snowman in the freezing cold!).

Gina's tip: Use it with a very very light hand, otherwise u risk clown cheeks! I use a Sigma duo-fibered brush (ss187).

MAC Harmony Blush
Harmony (£17.50 or £14.50 in pan form)
This is my contour shade. It is a light brown color with pink undertones, matte finish (ideal for a contour shade) and works amazing with my NW20 skin. There is not much to say about this, except that it gives the most natural shading for fair-light skintones.

Gina's tip: I use this with my MAC 109 brush.

MAC Blush in Sincere
Sincere (£17.50 or £14.50 in pan form)
I got this as a subtle blush to wear when I am sporting really dark lips. When I saw this in the pan I found it really dark and orange for me, but when the make-up artist applied it on my skin, it was perfect for what I wanted it. It is an orange-y brown and it is a sheertone finish. It looks very natural, but I definitely need to apply it lightly (I use a sigma 187 brush). It could definitely pass for a bronzer as well. Overall, a very pretty color that can work on light and darker skins.

NARS Luster Blush
Luster (£21)
This is an apricot color with a gold sheen and it is my all time favorite blush! You can see in the photos that it is my most used color and one I will repurchase till the end of time! It is pigmented and easily blendable (like all NARS blushes). If you are looking for model-like cheecks, try contouring pretty heavily adding Luster and then a gold-ish highliter on top of your cheekbones. Phenomenal!! I think every skintone can wear this shade, but it might work better as a highlighter for girls with really dark skin.

NARS Deep Throat Blush
Deep Throat (£21)
Deep Throat (oh the name!) is a coral-y pink with golden shimmer. It is soft and easily bleandable and I really like wearing it with a red lip. It is a very pretty shade, but one I don't tend to use that much since I am crazy about my Luster.

Gina's tip: If you like NARS Orgasm but find it too much, this looks similar to it but way more subtle.

NYX Raisin Blush
Raisin (£5.50)
This is a plum blush with a lot of brown mixed in. It is matte and works as a contour shade as well. It is higly pigmented and very buildable, and to me it is a sophisticated/slightly grown-up blush color. It is a very pretty shade and my only plum blush, but I really want to try NARS Sin to see how it compares. NYX blushes are really affordable and you should definitely try them out.
